PINKSOUP’s P1+P2 T-shirts are futuristic nostalgia
Models: Tuen Simonas Pham & Van Ann Pham.
Photographed by PINKSOUP.
Vilnius (Lithuania) based brand PINKSOUP comes from where nostalgia collides with the future. Growing up in a lackluster environment, they found inspiration in the colours, sounds and life of the previous decades intersecting with their dreams of tomorrow. They wonder if the 80′s only happen once or is every cultural-boom reincarnated for the future? Where is the Warhol, Thriller or Walkman of the future?
Inspired by streetwear traditions, they chose the t-shirt as their main canvas. Only two models were created for this exclusive and limited line.
The collection features a clean & minimal form complemented by a loud pattern razor-cut aura neckline. The prints reflect ironically on the themes of obsession & frustration of this internet culture.
With every P1 & P2 t-shirt package comes a CAPSULE TICKET passcode. Use this passcode to enter the PINKSOUP CAPSULE and write your letter for the future.
All of the letters will be placed inside a unique time capsule that will be buried this year and opened a 1000 years later. Go online and grab one before they are gone and leave your message for your future kin.
Kippers in Slippers are Big fish in a small pond
Showcasing today is Kippers in Slippers. An upstart from Leicester, led by graduates with fulltime jobs that dream of an environment where they can go to work as a group of mates while being successful. Making simple two toned tees with designs of local designers is there thing.
Their scope is local but there ambitions are national.
Glocal is the word that expresses it best, taking that local vibe and making it global.
For Kippers in Slippers is using local designers not enough, they have already taken a big step in responsibility by making sure all designs are printed on 100% organic cotton supplied by Fairwear Foundation, GOTS and are all OE100 certified.
Their tagline, “Big fish, small pond” is a play on the phrase which usually has negative connotations.
They think people should strive to be a “Big Fish” no matter what pond (towns, cities) they come from. This doesn’t necessarily mean acting like a big shot. Instead they pay homage to all the hard working foot soldiers on the bottom ring of their profession, busting a nut to climb that ladder (see the #KippinItReal posters).

10.Deep 2014 Spring Collection is Internationally Known10.Deep’s 2014 Spring collection is here. Titled “Internationally Known”, it explores the connections between 10.Deep® and the diverse array of cultures that have informed the streetwear community from which the brand has emerged.
While New York City street-wear rose on its own through decades of development, its existence was nurtured and much of its style was refined in Japan. This first offering of the Spring collection speaks to these links and the role that Japan played in its evolution. Following this idea, they decided to create a collection that reads like an American’s stab at making Japanese street wear (which is, ironically, itself a refinement of American street wear style). Heavy Kanji-laden graphic applications and cherry blossom prints are contrasted with old western paisley handkerchief prints, workwear references and other classic western silhouettes. The results are the embodiment of hybridized culture that is neither Japanese nor American but full of references to both. Much of the featured product is now available exclusively at the webshop now and will arrive at your local retailers next week.
